In 1939, the Sporting Club of Saint André played for the Union of Flanders. From September 1940, it joined the Ligue du Nord Football Association and competed in the championships during the years of occupation. In 1970, the creation of a municipal sports club occurs: the SCSA becomes the Union Sportive de Saint-André. Since 1999 an organizing committee has joined the club to organize an International U17 Tournament recognized throughout Europe and beyond.
Despite not being one of the most high-profile football clubs in France, USSA Lille continues to play an important role in the development of young footballers in the region. The club has a strong youth academy, which is focused on developing young players with the technical and tactical skills necessary to succeed in professional football. The academy's focus is on providing a well-rounded education for its young players, both on and off the pitch, and preparing them for a career in professional football or other fields.
